Most people couldn't believe their eyes when the spec sheet for the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport was made public during its unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show. Packing a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6, this midsize sedan boasts an astonishing 325 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque delivered to all four wheels. Naturally, one would think that sort of grunt comes with an absurdly high price tag. Get this: It doesn't.

Where one would expect this car to go for $40,000 or above, Ford has kept the MSRP at an accessible $34,350. In fact, load it up to the nines, and it still comes out below that $40k estimate. This will make it a thorn in the side not only of other midsize sedans that claim sportiness, but also some premium automakers that offer nearly half the output of the Fusion Sport for a similar base price. That's impressive.

The Fusion Sport drops at our dealership in Rochester, NY this autumn. If you're stoked to take your turn behind the wheel, drop us a line at our new Ford showroom and we'll let you know when it saunters in.
